Employee Spotlight: Jason Castleberry
Position: Flight Nurse
Division: Hot Springs, AR
Jason is a flight nurse on LifeNet AIR 2 (LNA2) in our Hot Springs Division who is in his 24th year of working for EMS.
“I had a classmate in high school that would third ride with the local ambulance service at the time. He would always talk about his experiences, and it sounded like an exciting job that I thought I would enjoy,” Jason said, as he described why he originally became an EMT, then paramedic, and later flight nurse.
Because of his experience, Jason often steps up to fill roles in the company when an extra person is needed. In addition to his full-time role on LNA2, Jason also fills shifts as a paramedic on our ground ambulances. Sometimes you might find him filling in as an Operations Manager, and when needed, you might also find him in our Texarkana Division working a shift on the LNA1 helicopter, too.
“I enjoy the challenge of caring for a severely ill or injured patient and making a difference in their outcome,” he said. “My favorite thing about working for LifeNet is being part of a team of professionals who continuously strive for improvement.”
For others considering a career in EMS, Jason offers this advice: “Just Go For It! EMS is an excellent platform for helping people.”
When Jason isn’t at work, most weekends you can find him at the local dirt track making laps in his IMCA Modified.
